On August 17th, the Asia Food Safety and Food Security Conference officially started at meeting Room 3 of Dong Nai Technology University with the participation of 300 guests from other countries and in the country. The Asian Food Safety and Security Association (AFSSA) is a non-profit, voluntary organization established in 2010. The fifth annual meeting of the Bangladesh-Japan Association on Science and Technology (BJAST) in Dhaka in 2010 decided to set up the association “Asian Food Safety and Security Association (AFSSA)”. The first AFFSA meeting was held at Osaka Prefecture University, from 15th to 17th September 2012. The meeting decided to hold AFFSA’s 2nd annual meeting in Vietnam.
Opening remarks at the conference, Prof. Takashi, AFFSA president, said “This conference is a meeting of more than 20 different countries, where the research will be presented and discussed. We hope this is an opportunity for many young researchers to participate in the international conference. On behalf of the participants, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dong Nai People’s Committee and Dong Nai Technology University in Vietnam for supporting and helping us organize this conference”.
Representative of Dong Nai People’s Committee, Dr. Huynh Van Toi, Head of the provincial Department of Propaganda and Training, wished the conference would be a great success and sent great thanks to domestic and foreign experts who attended the conference to help Vietnam in general and Dong Nai province in particular to have a new look at food safety and food security.
